¾ cup (180 mL) unsweetened applesauce
½ cup (120 mL) brewed espresso 
½ cup (109 g) refined coconut oil, melted‡
½ Tbsp (7 mL) pure vanilla extract

Frosting
7.9 oz (224 g) unsalted vegan butter, at room temperature
2¼ cups (302 g) powdered sugar
¾ cup (80 g) Dutch processed cocoa powder
⅓ cup (80 mL) unsweetened soy milk 
1 tsp (5 mL) pure vanilla extract
⅓ cup (93 g) melted dairy-free dark chocolate
